Locuz Thai and Sake Bar

It was the first time in my entire life that I was made to wait for almost an hour in the restaurant before the person appeared for dinner.

We have set up our dinner appointment at 7:30 pm, moved it to 8:00 pm, and it was around 8:50 pm till my friend showed up.

Goodness gracious!

I couldn’t even wait. I started ordering some appetizers because I was just so hungry.

My friend just plopped on the chair and started eating after arriving, saying, “Sorry, I got a bit lost.

And that was that.

No wonder my friend is still single. Even with a lot of patience, I think being late for almost an hour is just too much. I think it’s a sign of disrespect for other people’s time, and if I have known beforehand this would happen, I wouldn’t have confirmed the date.

Geez, I was quite tempted to just go, but luckily, I had my books with me so I was able to do quite a bit of studying.

But still.

Sigh, oh well, at least the food was good. 😛

The restaurant we went to was the Locuz Thai and Sake Bar located at#29, Lane 236, Dunhua South Road Sec. 1 (Tel: (02) 2771 2033).

First, you exit the Chungxiao Fuxing MRT Exit 3 and walk straight. On the first corner (which is at Bistro 98), turn right. Go forward two corners and then turn left at that alley. It’s on the left side.

Locuz offered a pretty sweet deal: NT$390 for 38 dishes and NT$450 for the entire menu selection, but I daresay that the NT$390 deal (with refillable softdrinks and dessert). That’s for your eat-all-you-can, baby!

And though their food ain’t as delicate as the other upper class Thai restaurants, it still offers you great value for your money and the service is pretty decent.

No surprise, the place was still packed when we arrived.

For our table, I ordered the regular staples such as the beef salad which was both beef and sour all at the same time…
Some zhao-ma ji (Thai fried chicken), squid chili salad, and their yue-xia-pin (flat shrimp moon-sized cakes):

There were also eggplant in chili tomato sauce, pork chili bits, seafood mix, and Thai curry chicken…

My only complaint from the menu was their padthai, which was fairly delicious but looked too Taiwanese to be Thai:

I think it’s in the noodles where it tasted more like instant noodles than authentic Thai. 😦

But who am I to complain? For the price of NT$390 + 10% tax for my entire meal, I was sated and happy. 🙂

So if any of you would like some cheap Thai eats and have much room on your tummy to spare, then I daresay, try out the Locuz Thai and Sake Bar. Not only is it at a convenient location, but food is pretty decent and the service is above average.

Oh, and if you go, do choose your dining partners carefully and yes, leave after he/she is late after 30 minutes. That is indeed too much.

Night night!

About Bonita

I'm a forgetful person. But I think a lot. Every day, a lot of thoughts enter my head. That's why this blog came to be: first, to keep my memories alive through the years, and two, to actually see how I and my thoughts have changed. Please note that I seldom draft or edit my posts. Sometimes, if I'm not careful, I offend some of you, my readers. And while I apologize for making you feel uncomfortable, I am not sorry for being honest or for making well-intentioned mistakes. I will however be the first to admit if I change my mind. Hence, do read and proceed with caution. My life is as colorful and as boring as you make it. I complain many days, but offer some encouragement in others. Life is fluid, it changes. So keep the positives and throw away the negatives, and I do hope that at the end of the day, you will enjoy reading the blog and leaving comments here and there if my posts touches you. Happy reading!

my blog used to be open, even if you dont have a xanga acct, but i made it viewable for xanga subscribers only cos i’m slowly getting my own share of stalkers. 🙂 so…yea, you have to sign in just for tracking purposes.

a lot of my friends signed up just to read my entries. y’know, to keep in touch and all that. dont worry, signing up doesnt require an arm and a leg.:)

hmm…about clubbing… i like luxy but my classmates dont cos 1) they think the crowd is a group of snobs, 2)it’s expensive, and 3)they’re sick of hiphop. (i hang out with two european girls so that basically explains the dislike. 🙂 )

i’ve been to plush, wax, mint, 9%, roxy 99 and brass monkey (the last two are the worst that i’ve gone to so far).

Haha, buti ka pa, you have stalkers. That’s why it pays to at least be anonymous. Nobody stalks you cause you’re nowhere to be found. Btw, how come you only have a single entry?

Am sooo into hiphop. If it’s not hiphop and I don’t recognize the tunes, I get bored. Iba tayo though, I think Mint and Plush peeps are the ones who’s snobs. Luxy’s just very local, and so is Wax, with a good mix of students. Roxy 99 used to be good. What happened to it? And me likey the free drinks at Brass. Haven’t been to 9% yet. Dunno if music is good. Whatchathink?
