Being single

Isn’t it great to be with someone?

I’m not there yet. I’m still blessedly single (waiting for the right one to show its head), but I look around me and I see love blossoming everywhere.

Whereas a month ago, it was breakup seasonโ€ฆ now, it must be the season for love.

Love doesn’t really announce itself before it comes in your door. Quite the contrary. One moment, you’re so lonely cause you don’t have guests. And the next moment, you’re so busy that you don’t know if you have time to do everything!

It’s like buses here in Taipei, which I find to be really true: When you need one, they NEVER come. It’s always a different bus than the one you’re waiting for. And you start stewing and start getting impatient. But once you about to give up on the wait and just take it easy, you discover your bus is arriving.

And that’s one of the best feelings in the world.

I don’t have someone yet. But I’m excited.

I know the right man is just somewhere, waiting on the corner. And unlike before where I had a long list of characteristics and attributes that I would want this man to have, now, I have nothing.

Experience has told me that having a list is goodโ€ฆ it gives you an idea on what you are looking for, and what you dislike.

But the truth is, once you find someone, your list loses its importance. Somehow, the things you find important, doesn’t seem that important anymore.

There are always two sides of the same coin.

On one hand, being single is kinda lonely. When you want to watch a movie, you’d have to call your friends, and they’re not free all the time! You don’t have a 24 hour companion, and no one to snuggle with.

On the other hand, being single is freeing! I can date all I want, with whomever I want, and do whatever I want. I don’t have to ask for permission, or worry about what the other person would think!

As the movie title, I JUST CAN’T WAIT!

Last night, I went wallclimbing with a couple of big guys. There’s nothing better than climbing with a bunch of yet, ’cause they’re rooting for you all the way!

I didn’t like how I performed though. I couldn’t even scale walls that I found easy last time. Damn, I must really be out of shape. ๐Ÿ™

The Y17 gym was packed too! Friends Benson and James had to give up and go home because there were just far too many people.

My only saving grace was meeting this cute French guy I’ve noticed before. It was funny, I keep on forgetting his name. So when he asked me if I remembered who he is, I was like, “Ummmm…. starts with a C!!!”

It was embarrassing but I just laughed and gave him a big smile and hug. Haha, that’s what’s great about being a woman! There are still some things that you can get away with!

Anyway, I’ve invited him to go wallclimbing with us next week. Whether he comes or not is up to him, but sure was great to see him there!

Afterwards, I headed towards the Dunhua area to try out this newly-opened casual Japanese restaurant called HeMin (ๅ’Œๆฐ‘). It’s just a 2-minute walk from 24-hour Eslite bookstore (walk towards Chungxiao).

Terrific, terrific food! ๐Ÿ˜€

The prices were also very reasonable at NT$100+ to NT$300 a meal!

If you guys have a big group and would like to try some special Japanese fare, try out this place. It’s usually packed during mealtimes and they don’t accept reservations (my friend vows he saw this famous Taiwanese personality falling in line!), but it’s worth the try.

Went there for my guy-friend’s birthday! Hahaha, I’m going to be soooo fat because we started eating at 11PM (don’t really give the food time to digest). Everyone had to work real late so the party started at 10:30PM.

After the hard workout wallclimbing, I was hesitant to eat again. But after seeing all the different dishes, I couldn’t help myself and started to dig in!

Boy, I can really eat! ๐Ÿ˜€

It was also good to see all my Japanese friends again.

I’m soooo out of the loop!

Sayami is now working in this bar as a singer/waitress/dishwasher even if her husband owns two bars in Anhe Road! Her husband John is opening up a new sports bar, and has offered to give me a job. Makiyo is going home for three months this Saturday to prepare for work. Harima is starting work today at Global Village, teaching Japanese. While Terruto is still like himself, who thinks he’s God’s gift to earth.

Went home dazed and sated, but it was great! Always great to meet up with friends and try new dishes!

Going to be a busy weekend (again!).

There’s salsa dancing lessons and socializing tonight, watching “Walk the Line” and checking out the lantern festival tomorrow, and on Sunday a meeting and watching a concert featuring all of Taiwan’s famous pop stars at the Taipei Sports Arena!

Just can’t wait! C’est La Vie!

About Bonita

I'm a forgetful person. But I think a lot. Every day, a lot of thoughts enter my head. That's why this blog came to be: first, to keep my memories alive through the years, and two, to actually see how I and my thoughts have changed. Please note that I seldom draft or edit my posts. Sometimes, if I'm not careful, I offend some of you, my readers. And while I apologize for making you feel uncomfortable, I am not sorry for being honest or for making well-intentioned mistakes. I will however be the first to admit if I change my mind. Hence, do read and proceed with caution. My life is as colorful and as boring as you make it. I complain many days, but offer some encouragement in others. Life is fluid, it changes. So keep the positives and throw away the negatives, and I do hope that at the end of the day, you will enjoy reading the blog and leaving comments here and there if my posts touches you. Happy reading!
